The advance bookings for Zara Hatke Zara Bachke started on Wednesday and is pretty much below average right now. Mr. Johar added that "Films like these are more over-the-counter sales, with youth and college-going students being the primary target audience."

"So, having said that, there is a good chance at the box office for the film. The industry has witnessed a couple of dry weeks with no major releases. Adipurush is set to release, but not for another two weeks. So if the film has a good chance to perform."

How is the buzz around the fresh pairing of Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan?

Mr. Johar feels that Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan's fresh pairing has added a sizable buzz to the movie. "They've managed to create awareness of the film for sure. Even the music is kind of picking up. But audiences are too smart these days. They know that the stars are going on a city tour, to a temple, or to a mall for the promotion of the film."

He added, "So, at the end of the day, the audience can choose to spend on a product, and they very well know what works for them and what does not. So it boils down eventually to what the film is. Having said that, yes, the awareness levels are decent."

How does day 1 for Zara Hatke Zara Bachke appear?

Stressing on the fact that box office is very dynamic these days and positive word of mouth matters, Mr. Johar said, "If the film is good, then on the second half of the release day, the film will pick up, bringing in the audiences, and eventually end up doing well. So I'm expecting a good start at the box office."

"The film is targeting more than 1500 screens across the country, which is a good release. And it's also a major solo Hindi film coming after a gap. There is a dry spell at the box office, so all this could add to the film's benefit."

"It has good songs and light comedy, which will attract a larger audience. I always set a particular range for a film. I think it should open anywhere around one and a half crore to start with, but obviously all this depends on word of mouth. The early trend could be that. And if the word of mouth is good, it can end up doing more than two crores. But if the word of mouth is not good and it fails to meet the audience's expectations, it will come down to a range of 1.5 to two crores."
