Zwigato Box Office Collection Day 3: Kapil Sharma's Film Sees Little Growth; Here's How Much It Will Make

Zwigato Box Office Collection Day 3: Kapil Sharma's slice-of-life drama Zwigato, which released in theaters on March 17, had an underwhelming start at the box office. Although Kapil's performance in the film has been praised, it could only collect Rs. 42 lakh on its opening day on Friday. Directed by Nandita Das, which is her third movie, Zwigato was premiered at the Toronto and Busan Film Festivals and created a decent buzz in India. It should be noted that Zwigato's makers went for a limited release in India, with just 409 screens across the country.

The word of mouth for Zwigato is positive, but the film could perform a miracle even on its second day. After the films Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and Firangi, Zwigato marked Kapil Sharma's return to the silver screen. Moviegoers are loving Kapil's new serious and intense avatar. But the film seems to have failed to pull in the crowd at the theaters, as on its day 2, Zwigato did a business of only Rs. 0.65 crore. This brings the film's overall collection to a little over Rs 1 crore.

At the same time, Zwigato faces stiff competition at the box office from a slew of films, including Rani Mukerji's Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway and Shazam! Fury of the Gods has been released. While Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's rom-com Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Shah Rukh Khan's superhit Pathaan have been box office successes.

Taking to Twitter, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh stated that Zwigato has witnessed an upward trend on its second day. His tweet read, "#Zwigato witnesses an upward trend on Day 2 [+44.19%], but the 2-day total remains very low due to its biz on Day 1... Biz needs to have a miraculous turnaround/jump on Day 3 for a respectable weekend total... Fri 43 lacs, Sat 62 lacs. Total: ₹ 1.05 cr. #India biz."

As per the website Sacnilk, Zwigato on its third day is likely to fetch 0.72 crore. thus bringing the film's total to Rs. 1.79 crore. Its third-day occupancy is reported to be 4.88 percent. Zwigato stands at 0.5 cr in worldwide collection.
