Article 370 Box Office Collection Day 7: Yami’s Film Refuses To Slow Down; To Cross 35Cr Ahead Of 2nd Weekend

Yami Gautam has all the reasons to be on cloud nine on both personal and professional fronts. The diva, who is expecting her first child now with her husband Aditya Dhar, is making heads turn for her recent release. We are talking about Article 370 which is a political action thriller and features Yami Gautam in the role an intelligence officer named Zooni.

The movie, which also stars Priyamani, Skand Thakur, Ashwini Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar in key roles, revolves around the controversial 2019 abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Needless to say, Article 370 has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year and it has been doing a decent business at the box office.

The movie started its box office journey with an opening day collection of Rs 5.9 crores. And while it did witness a significant dip in collections on its first Monday, it has been holding a steady ground at the box office. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Article 370 minted Rs 3.15 crores yesterday (day 6/ first Wednesday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 32.6 crores.

Given the trend, Article 370 is likely to mint Rs 2.5-3 crores and will be crossing Rs 35 crores today. In fact, it has managed to mint Rs 1.15 crores so far and the numbers will be increasing by the end of the day.

Meanwhile, Yami Gautam is quite elated with the audience's response to Article 370. In a heartfelt social media post, the actress wrote, "When we were making Article 370, so many people told us that this film won't work with the audience, 'it's too technical, too many political jargons etc etc'. But we went ahead with our gut because we knew those naysayers were underestimating our audience. Thank you all for proving them absolutely wrong. Thank you so much for giving so much love to our small little film, with a big heart. We are humbled and will remain forever grateful to all of you. Dhanyawaad! Jai Hind!"
