Exclusive! Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha-Ulajh Box Office Collection: Both Movies Rely On Word Of Mouth

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha-Ulajh Box Office Collection: This Friday (2nd August), two biggies are all set to hit the big screens Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Ulajh. While the trailer and the songs of both the movies have grabbed attention of the audiences, it will be interesting to see which film will make a mark at the box office.

Filmibeat spoke to producer and film business expert Girish Johar, about the movies. When asked him about the buzz of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Ulajh, Johar said, "Buzz for both the movies are underpar. Both the films are hugely dependent on word of mouth. The surprising factor is, for a film like Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha with Ajay, Tabu and Neeraj Panday, the attraction is a little bit low. But, I believe, the makers have kept themselves under the radar because they strongly rely on word of mouth or shock value or the surprise value that the film will give to the audiences and that will help the collections jump over the weekend, and the long run."

Talking about Ulajh, he added, "Ulajh is not a hardcore commercial entertainer, it is a niche urban thriller for metro audiences. The target audience has liked the trailer, but again, it will largely depend on the word of mouth. The movie is coming from a good team, but reviews and word of mouth has to be good."

When asked him about what can be the first day collection of the movies, Johar said, "Ulajh can open round Rs. 1-2 crore at the box office, but depending on word of mouth, it can go up or down. Meanwhile, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha could be anywhere around Rs. 3-6 crore depending on word of mouth, and later, it can grow."
