Well, after the success of Citadel: Honey Bunny, Varun is now making headlines for his upcoming action thriller Baby John which also features Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff in the lead. The movie has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and marks Keerthy's debut in Bollywood. For the uninitiated, Baby John is said to be the official remake of Thalapathy Vijay's 2016 release Theri.

Helmed by Kalees, Baby John is written by Atlee, Kalees and Sumit Arora. The movie features Varun in the role of a cop along with Keerthy Suresh as his wife. To note, Baby John marks Varun's second film as a cop after Dishoom. On the other hand, Baby John also features Jackie Shroff as the lead antagonist and the trailer has got everyone wanting for more. Needless to say, there are speculations about how the movie will fare at the box office on the opening day.

Baby John Box Office Collection Day 1 Prediction

Baby John has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and is likely to have a decent start at the box office amid Pushpa 2: The Rule craze at the ticket windows. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, Baby John is likely to mint Rs 11-13 crores on day 1 and is likely to touch Rs 16 crores at the max if it manages to impress the audience.

Baby John To Become Varun Dhawan's Highest Opener In 5 Years

To note, Baby John is quite crucial for Varun Dhawan who has been longing for a solo hit for a while. Though Kalank happens to be his highest opener ever with an opening day collection of Rs 21.60 crores, Baby John is likely to become Varun's highest opener in last 5 years.

Meanwhile, Varun, in an interview with India Today, spoke about taking inspiration from Theri and stated. "When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it, and he said that we had to change a lot of the geography of the film. We have to use it as an adaptation and not really a proper remake, and I think that's what's done. Like you see, a lot of the frames and a lot of the story angles are different. So, if someone comes in expecting a book-by-book remake, they will be disappointed because that's not what the film is. It's an adaptation. We're not running away from that, but it's more of an adaptation"
