On the other hand, Jackie Shroff has left everyone in awe with his performance as the menacing lead antagonist. Marking as Varun Dhawan's first big screen release of the year and hitting the theatres on the occasion of Christmas, Baby John saw a decent opening at the box office.
Baby John Box Office Collection Day 2
After making an opening day collection of Rs 11.25 crores, Baby John saw a massive drop in numbers yesterday. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Baby John made a collection of Rs 4.5 crores on day 2 (first Thursday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 15.75 crores.
Baby John Box Office Collection Day 3 Prediction
Given the ongoing trend, Baby John is likely to struggle to make Rs 5 crores today (day 3/ first Friday). The movie is expected to rake in Rs 2-4 crores at the box office today and is likely to fail to touch Rs 20 crores ahead of the first weekend.
Meanwhile, Varun, in an interview with India Today, spoke about taking inspiration from Theri and stated. "When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it, and he said that we had to change a lot of the geography of the film. We have to use it as an adaptation and not really a proper remake, and I think that's what's done. Like you see, a lot of the frames and a lot of the story angles are different. So, if someone comes in expecting a book-by-book remake, they will be disappointed because that's not what the film is. It's an adaptation. We're not running away from that, but it's more of an adaptation".
