After winning hearts with his performance in movies like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Sam Bahadur, Sardar Udham, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, etc, the handsome hunk is coming with the first release of 2024. We are talking about Bad Newz which also features Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in the lead. Helmed by Anand Tiwari, Bad Newz is a comedy drama and is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, this Vicky and Triptii starrer has made a collection of Rs 36.94 lakhs with a sale of 12.8K tickets in 24 hours. While it is a good start, Bad Newz has managed to beat Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan's recent release Sarfira which had minted Rs 22.4 lakhs in the first 24 hours with a sale of over 11 thousand tickets. In fact, there have been speculations about Bad Newz making a double digit opening day collection at the box office. It will be interesting to see how Bad Newz will fare at the box office and if it will end the dry spell on the ticket windows.

Meanwhile, Vicky got candid about trying the comedy genre for the first time with Bad Newz and told Money Control, "For any actor, there is this urge to do as many different kinds of roles as possible. Luckily, I got to work in many different genres and was offered diverse roles. I have worked with many different directors, and my personal favorite genre is drama and action. While doing comedy, you get a lot of confidence because you have cracked it. There are many legendary actors like Govinda, Akshay sir, Kishore Kumar ji, and even Diljit (Dosanjh) Paaji. They have been absolutely fantastic at the comedy, and we have also tried our hands at it. So, it is a fun film that you can watch with your family while eating popcorn".
