Bad Newz Box Office Collection Day 1: Vicky’s Film Sees Good Start; Actor Gets His Highest Opener Ever

Bad News Box Office Collection Day 1: Anand Tiwari's recent directorial Bad Newz has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in the lead and happens to be a comedy drama. The movie revolves around the concept of heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive process in which twin children are born to the same mother, but from different biological fathers. As Bad Newz has managed to create a substantial buzz in the town, it opened to rave reviews from the audience.

The audience has been in awe of Vicky and Triptii's sizzling chemistry, peppy numbers and also hailed Vicky's camaraderie with Ammy Virk. In fact, the duo's Punjabi munde vibes have won millions of hearts. Interestingly, Bad Newz saw a good start at the box office in terms of advance booking wherein it raked in Rs 2.67 crores from the advance booking for the first day with a sale of over 93 thousand tickets.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Bad Newz managed to mint a decent amount on the opening day with a collection of Rs 8.50 crores. Interestingly, Bad Newz has managed to create a record for Vicky as it marked its highest opening day collection after beating Uri: The Surgical Strike which raked in Rs 8.20 crores on the day of release.

Meanwhile, Vicky got candid about trying comedy genre for the first time with Bad Newz and told Money Control, "For any actor, there is this urge to do as many different kinds of roles as possible. Luckily, I got to work in many different genres and was offered diverse roles. I have worked with many different directors, and my personal favorite genre is drama and action. While doing comedy, you get a lot of confidence because you have cracked it. There are many legendary actors like Govinda, Akshay sir, Kishore Kumar ji, and even Diljit (Dosanjh) Paaji. They have been absolutely fantastic at the comedy, and we have also tried our hands at it. So, it is a fun film that you can watch with your family while eating popcorn"
