Eid is considered the perfect time to release a film. Several movies like Bharat, Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan have performed well after releasing during the festival. Last week, two major flicks arrived in the cinema halls on the occasion of Eid 2024- Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan.

Considering the buzz and star power of the leads, the industry folks expected that the two much-awaited films would set the box office on fire. However, they failed to post a combined total of even Rs 25 crore on the first day of release.

Eid releases usually garner big moolah at the ticket windows and the lackluster-less performance of Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has been disappointing. While Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff earned better than Ajay Devgn's, the numbers are nothing to boast about.

Interestingly, both Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan released a day later due to Eid 2024 holiday. The makers postponed the release to grab more eyeballs in the cinema halls.

MAIDAAN VS BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN DAY 6 BOX OFFICE COLLECTION

According to Sacnilk, the early estimates suggest that Maidaan collected around Rs 1.65 crore on the first Tuesday. After witnessing a major drop on Monday (April 15), the sports drama gained numbers on April 16. The total box office collection of Maidaan stands at Rs 25.15 crore, as per the website.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan co-starring Manushi Chillar and Alaya collected Rs 2.25 crore on Tuesday, as per the early estimates shared by Sacnilk. The total box office collection of BMCM stands at Rs 45.55 crore, the website reported.

Bade Miyan has defeated Maidaan with a margin of over Rs 60 lakh on the first Tuesday.
