Chandu Champion Box Office Collection Day 11: Kartik Aaryan’s Film Crosses 50Cr Mark Despite A Dip Of 73%

Chandu Champion Box Office Collection Day 11: Kartik Aaryan starrer Chandu Champion has been one of the most talked about films of the year and there are no second thoughts about it. The movie marks Kartik's first collaboration with Kabir Khan and happens to be a sports biopic based on India's first Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar. To note, this happens to be Kartik's first film in this genre and he has managed to create immense buzz in the town with his incredible transformation.

Also starring Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Aniruddh Dave, and Vijay Raaz in key roles, Chandu Champion opened to rave reviews from the audience and went on to win millions of hearts. The audience not only hailed Kabir Khan's direction but also lauded Kartik's performance in the titular role. However, the sports biopic saw a slow start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 4.75 crores. In fact, Chandu Champion was seen struggling at the box office during the first week.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Chandu Champion saw a significant jump in collections during the second weekend. This Kartik starrer minted Rs 4.85 crores on day 9 (second Saturday) followed by a significant hike in numbers on day 10 (second Sunday) wherein it minted Rs 6.5 crores which was higher than Chandu Champion's opening day numbers. Interestingly, Chandu Champion saw a massive drop of 73% on second Monday (day 11). The movie raked in Rs 1.75 crores on second Monday (day 11) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 51 crores. Though Chandu Champion has managed to cross Rs 50 crores mark, it will be interesting to see how it will fare in the second week as Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD is hitting the screens on June 27.

Meanwhile, Kabir Khan recently spoke about the low opening of Chandu Champion and told Times Now, "The slow start did throw us off balance. But luckily, the word-of-mouth was positive. Let's see how it goes from here. Nowadays, it's hard to predict anything about the box office. We made a film which we thought would be liked by the audience. I am glad the audience ratio is increasing. These are tough times. We should be grateful for whatever attention the audience gives us".
