From the storyline to Kartik's phenomenal transformation, Chandu Champion has managed to win millions of hearts. As Chandu Champion opened to rave reviews from the audience, it had a slow start at the box office wherein it made an opening day collection of Rs 4.75 crores. While Chandu Champion saw a good hike in collections during the opening weekend, it was seen having a significant dip in numbers during the weekdays.
According to a report published in Sacnilk, Chandu Champion minted Rs 5 crores on day 4 (first Monday), followed by a collection of Rs 3.25 crores on day 5 (first Tuesday). The Kartik starrer saw another drop in numbers yesterday (day 6/ first Wednesday) as it minted Rs 3 crores as per early estimates and took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 32.75 crores. Given the trends, Chandu Champion is expected to mint Rs 2-2.5 crores today (day 7/ first Thursday) and will inch closer to Rs 35 crores.
Meanwhile, Kabir Khan recently spoke about the low opening of Chandu Champion and told Times Now, "The slow start did throw us off balance. But luckily, the word-of-mouth was positive. Let's see how it goes from here. Nowadays, it's hard to predict anything about the box office. We made a film which we thought would be liked by the audience. I am glad the audience ratio is increasing. These are tough times. We should be grateful for whatever attention the audience gives us".
