Dunki Box Office Collection Day 19: SRK’s Film To See A Major Drop In Numbers After Crossing 216Cr

It's been a week since the new year 2024 started and the Indian box office is set to embrace the new releases. But as of now, it's the last big releases of 2023 that are creating a massive buzz at the ticket windows. Among these is Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani and also starring Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani in the lead, Dunki was based on a relevant topic of the eponymous illegal immigration technique.

And while Dunki witnessed a decent start at the box office, it was seen struggling during the weekdays in the first week itself. However, it did manage to hold its ground well and despite a continuous drop in collections, Dunki managed to enter the coveted Rs 200 crore club during the New Year celebrations. And while it did fall during the second week once again, the third weekend came as a sigh of relief.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Dunki saw a significant rise in collections. The movie raked in Rs 3.6 crores on Saturday (day 17) and went on to mint Rs 4.54 crores yesterday (third Sunday/ day 18) which took the overall collection to Rs 216.86 crores. Given the trend, Dunki is likely to see a massive dip in number today and might be struggling to cross Rs 2 crores mark at the box office. With Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi's Merry Christmas hitting the theatres this week, it will be interesting to see how Dunki will fare during the third week.

Interestingly, Dunki has been witnessing a box office clash with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's much talked about movie Salaar and the latter is giving it a tough fight. Yes! Salaar has managed to crush Dunki and made an opening day collection of Rs 90.7 crores after opening to rave reviews from the audience. This isn't all. Salaar, which has been helmed by ace filmmaker Prashanth Neel, has also reportedly scored Rs 175 crores at the worldwide box office on its day of release. In fact, it has raked in Rs 400 crores worldwide so far in just 4 days of release and has recently entered the coveted Rs 600 crores club worldwide.
