Dunki vs Salaar Box Office 2024: Shah Rukh Khan Or Prabhas; Here’s Who Made A Thunderous Start Of New Year

The year 2023 was quite happening at the box office as several big releases were seen clashing at the ticket windows. Among these was the clash between Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki and Prabhas' Salaar. Both the movies were among the biggest releases of the year and despite different genres, they were seen giving each other a tough fight at the box office. To note, while Salaar was an action thriller, Dunki was a comedy drama based on a relevant topic of the eponymous illegal immigration technique.

Salaar managed to set the box office on fire since the first day itself with a thunderous a collection of Rs 90.7 crores all languages combined. On the other hand, Dunki had raked in Rs 29.2 crores on the opening day. And while Salaar continued to create new box office records at the box office, it was seen crushing Dunki giving it a tough time at the box office. Not just in Telugu, Salaar has been doing a decent business in Hindi market too.

As the year 2023 came to an end recently, Salaar managed to rake in Rs 345.27 crores until December 31, 2023 while Dunki raked in Rs 187.72 crores in December 2023. And as 2024 has begun, fans are curious to know who has been leading in the new year. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Dunki raked in Rs 9.05 crores on January 1 (the first day of 204) while the number was Rs 16.35 crores for Salaar in all languages combined. To note, Salaar raked in Rs 8 crores in Hindi version and it is evident that SRK has been leading in 2024.

Interestingly, Salaar has been unstoppable in the international market as well and managed to cross Rs 400 crores mark worldwide in four days and minted Rs 450.06 crores. In fact, as per a tweet shared by Manobala Vijayabalan, Salaar entered the coveted Rs 600 crores worldwide in 10 days. To note, Salaar will mark Prabhas' third entry in the coveted Rs 600 crores club worldwide after Baahubali and Baahubali 2.
