Exclusive! Fighter Box Office Collection: Will The 2nd Weekend Growth Help? Film Business Expert Reveals

Fighter Box Office Collection: Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter took a decent opening at the box office. The movie showed a fantastic jump on its day 2 which was a National holiday (Republic Day), and on Saturday and Sunday, the movie continued to do a good business at the box office. However, everyone was shocked to see that from Monday onwards the film showed a very huge drop. The collections came down to single digit and there was a drop everyday.

During its extended week one, the movie collected Rs. 146.50 crore. Now, all eyes were on the second weekend. While on Friday the numbers were low, it showed a very good jump on Saturday and Sunday, and as per early estimates, Fighter during its second weekend has collected around Rs. 29 crore which is decent.

Filmibeat spoke to producer and film business expert Girish Johar about Fighter getting a jump at the box office on its second weekend. When asked him if the jump will help the movie in long run, he said, "At the end of the day, whatever extra we collect at the box office, it is always welcomed. The second weekend jump shows that the audience has not outright rejected the film. The urban audiences went to multiplexes over the weekend, so they are pretty much enjoying the film. This definitely adds some hope to the film's final prospects."

"Weekdays are still there and it's a long run, but this Friday, we have another Shahid Kapoor film which is coming, that's also critial. So, whatever it collects its good to add to the final tally," he added.

Fighter Lifetime Box Office Collection

Further when asked what could be the lifetime collection of Fighter looking at the current scenario, Johar said, "Globally, it is nearing Rs. 300 crore mark. Overseas the collections are pretty much stronger than the home market. I really hope that it reaches the Rs. 250 crore mark at the Indian box office because that will be some good tracking eventually."

Fighter was the first biggie to release in 2024 and the expectations from the movie were quite high.
