Jigra Advance Booking Report Day 1: More than a year after her last release, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for next theatrical release titled 'Jigra'. Directed by Vasan Bala ('Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota' and 'Monica, O My Darling' fame), the prison-break thriller-drama marks Alia's second production venture after 'Darlings.'

Headlined by Alia Bhatt and 'The Archies' star Vedang Raina, the movie is co-produced by Alia and her sister's production house Eternal Sunshine Productions along with Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions.

Jigra, which chronicles the heart-wrenching tale of a sister named Satya (played by Alia Bhatt) going against the world to save his younger brother Ankur (played by Vedang) The movie also stars Manoj Pahwa in an important role. For those unversed, the film marks the theatrical debut of Vedang.

The teaser and the theatrical trailer along with the songs have created a significant amount of buzz around the release. Jigra is all set to hit cinemas tomorrow (October 11), clashing with Rajkummar Rao-Triptii Dimri's highly-anticipated film 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video'.

Jigra Advance Booking Collection Report Day 1

The advance booking of Alia-Vedang's Jigra kickstarted yesterday. According to a Koimoi report, the thriller-drama has witnessed a significant growth of over 1500% in ticket sales a day before its release. As the report further suggests, the film has grossed over Rs 56.11 lakhs (without block seats) for the opening day at the box office through pre-sales.

As tweeted by trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Jigra is likely to have a promising opening in cinemas tomorrow with a collection of somewhere between Rs 3 to 5 crores. The advance booking is likely to see a boost later in the day.
