Jigra Box Office Collection Day 5 (Early Updates): Alia Bhatt has come with the first release of the year and it has been all over the headlines. We are talking about Jigra which is helmed by Vasan Bala and has presented Alia in a never seen before avatar. Also starring Vedang Raina along with Sobhita Dhulipala, Manoj Pahwa, etc in key roles, Jigra has managed to create a massive buzz in the town with its trailer and songs. Interestingly, Jigra has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and has hit the screens on October 11

For the uninitiated, Jigra marks Alia's first collaboration with Vedang and the duo plays the role of siblings in the movie. To note, Jigra revolves around a young girl Satya (played by Alia Bhatt), whose younger brother Ankur (played by Vedang Raina) is stuck in a foreign jail and is being tortured there. And thus begins her challenging journey to free her brother. Jigra speaks volumes about the unconditional love between siblings and Alia did leave a mark with her impressive performance.

Jigra, which opened to decent reviews, made an opening box office collection of Rs 4.55 crores. While the movie did see a hike during the opening weekend, the first Monday has witnessed a massive drop in collections. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Jigra raked in Rs 1.65 crores on day 4 (first Monday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 18.25 crores.

Given the ongoing trends, Jigra will be seen struggling at the box office in the first week. The movie has made a collection Rs 99 lakhs today (day 5/ first Tuesday) so far (at 7:27PM). As of now, Jigra's overall collections stand at Rs 19.24 crores and it is evident that the movie is inching towards Rs 20 crores mark.

Jigra vs Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video: Which Film Is Leading At Box Office

Interestingly, Jigra is witnessing a box office clash with Rajkummar Rao and Triptti Dimri starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. While both the films have opened to mixed reviews, Jigra has failed to beat Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video so far at the box office. It will be interesting to see if Alia's film will manage to pick up pace in the coming days
