Kalki 2898 AD Advance Booking Day 1: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone have collaborated for the first time in Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD and the audience can't keep calm about it. After all, it not only brings stars like Amitabh Bachchan Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone etc, but has also been a dystopian sci-fi action film which is set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD is said to be the most expensive film of the Indian cinema and it has managed to create a massive buzz in the town.
For the uninitiated, Kalki 2898 AD will be out in six languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, English and Kannada languages. While the makers have begun the advance booking a while ago, Kalki 2898 AD has received a bumper response from the audience across the languages. In fact, while it is still a day left for the release of sci-fi film, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to cross Rs 40 crores mark with advance booking collection for the opening day.
According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD has sold over 16 lakhs tickets so far across the nation and made a collection of Rs 44.35 crores. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to enter the top 5 highest advance booking collection for day 1. Yes! You read it right. Kalki 2898 AD has managed to be Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 37.5 crores), Animal (Rs 40 crores) and KGF 2 (Rs 42.5 crores) and become the third highest advance booking collection for day 1. As there are still hours to go for the release of Kalki 2898 AD, it will be interesting to see if Kalki 2898 AD will manage to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (Rs 53.5 crores) and Jawan (Rs 55 crores) and become the film with highest advance booking day collection for day 1.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
