Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 1 (Hindi): Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are all over the headlines these days and rightfully so. After all, their first collaboration Kalki 2898 AD has been creating ripples in the industry since the first day. The movie happens to be a dystopian science fiction film which is helmed by Nag Ashwin and has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. In fact, Kalki 2898 AD also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in the lead along with Vijay Deverakond and Dulquer Salmaan doing cameos.

Kalki 2898 AD is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD and revolves around Kalki who is the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity, Vishnu. Interestingly, it is touted to be the most expensive film of Indian Cinema and has managed to create a massive buzz in the town with its cast, plot and incredible VFX. As Kalki 2898 AD opened to rave reviews and released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and English languages, it saw a good start at the box office.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD saw an impressive start in the Hindi market and made a collection of Rs 24 crores. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to beat Hrithik Roshan and Deepika starrer Fighter and emerge as the highest opener of 2024. For the uninitiated, Fighter had made a collection of Rs 22.5 crores. Earlier, Kalki 2898 AD had recorded 2024's highest advance booking collection for opening day with a collection of Rs 8.6 crores.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process"
