According to a tweet shared by film critics and film trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Kalki 2898 AD will be having a grand opening at the box office in Hindi regions. In fact, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to mint Rs 15-20 crores on the opening day in Hindi. This isn't all. Sumit also tweeted that pre-sale for Kalki 2898 AD have started on a positive note in the Hindi market and the movie is expected to have a bumper opening across the country. Well, if the reports turned out to be true, Kalki 2898 AD will beat Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan emerge as the second highest Bollywood opener of 2024 after Hrithik Roshan & Deepika Padukone's Fighter. To note, Fighter made an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores while Shaitaan raked in Rs 14.75 crores

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
