Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 10 (Hindi): Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD has emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year and there are no second thoughts about it. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has been a dystopian science fiction film which was made with a massive budget of Rs 600 crores making it the most expensive film of the Indian cinema. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in key roles, Kalki 2898 AD was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada and it has been creating waves in all languages.

While Kalki 2898 AD has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year, it opened to rave reviews across the world. In fact, Kalki 2898 AD saw a phenomenal opening in the Hindi market with an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores. This isn't all. The movie witnessed a massive jump in collections during the opening weekend and crossed Rs 100 crores mark. Though week 2 came with a continuous drop in numbers, Kalki 2898 AD maintained a good hold at the box office.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD a collection of Rs 162.5 crores in Hindi market during the first week. It made a collection of Rs 9.4 crores on day 9 (second Friday) despite a competition from the new release Kill. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD went on to see a hike of over 100% in numbers on day 10 (second Saturday) wherein it minted Rs 18.5 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 190.4 crores as per early estimates. It will be interesting to see how it will fare in the coming days

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
