Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 11 (Hindi): Deepika Padukone and Prabhas' first collaboration Kalki 2898 AD has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and it has been unstoppable at the box office since the first day. Directed Nag Ashwin, the dystopian science fiction film also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Hassan in the lead and was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has been doing wonders in the Hindi market and continues to the box office.
After recording the opening day box office collection of Rs 22.5 crores, Kalki 2898 AD saw an impressive opening weekend wherein it entered the prestigious Rs 100 crores club. Though the first Monday came with a massive drop in numbers, Kalki 2898 AD made sure to have a strong hold at the box office despite a continuous drop at the box office. In fact, Kalki 2898 AD also remained unfazed by the new release Kill. Interestingly, the second weekend came with a significant hike in the collections.
According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD saw growth of over 90 percent on day 10 (second Saturday) as the movie raked in Rs 18 crores followed by a collection of Rs 22.5 crores on day 11 (second Sunday) which took the overall collections of the film Rs 212.4 crores. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to create another record as it entered the coveted Rs 200 crores club. Reportedly, Prabhas has managed to beat Rajinikanth as Kalki 2898 AD surpassed the collections of Robot 2.0 in the Hindi market and became the fourth highest grossing South Indian film in Hindi after Baahubali 2, KGF 2 and RRR. For the uninitiated, Robot 2.0 had made a collection of Rs 190.50 crores. It will be interesting to see if Kalki 2898 AD will manage to beat RR R in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
