From an intriguing plot to the stellar cast, the dystopian science fiction film has come with a lot of surprises for the fans. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD saw a phenomenal drop in numbers on the second Monday and minted Rs 6.5 crores on day 12 (second Monday) followed by a collection of Rs 5.4 crores on day 13 (second Tuesday) and earning of Rs 4.75 crores yesterday (day 14/ second Wednesday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 229.05 crores. Given the trend, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to mint Rs 4 crores today (day 15/ third Thursday) and will be inching towards Rs 235 crores mark.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
