Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 2 (Hindi) Prediction: The year 2024 is quite happening for Deepika Padukone on both personal and professional fronts. The mom to be started the year with a bang as she delivered a hit with Siddharth Anand's Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan. And now, Deepika is making headlines for her recent release Kalki 2898 AD which has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, this dystopian science fiction film also features Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in the lead.

For the uninitiated, Kalki 2898 AD is the first installment in the Kalki Cinematic Universe and is set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. The movie marks Deepika's first collaboration with Prabhas and this Nag Ashwin directorial has opened to rave reviews from the audience. From Prabhas' humour quotient to Deepika's performance and even Amitabh Bachchan's stint as Ashwatthama, Kalki 2898 AD did manage to leave the fans in absolute awe.

Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to set the box office on fire in the Hindi market as well as with the overall collection. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to rake a collection of Rs 24 crores on day 1 (first Thursday) in Hindi and emerged as the highest opener of 2024. Given the trend and the good word of mouth, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to see hold a steady ground today (day 2/ first Friday) and will inch close to Rs 50 crores mark. It will be interesting to see if it can cross Rs 100 crores mark in the Hindi market during the first weekend.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
