Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 2 (Hindi) Prediction: Nag Ashwin's recent directorial Kalki 2898 AD has been one of the biggest releases of the year. Starring Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in the lead. Set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, Kalki 2898 AD has been the most expensive film of the Indian cinema and chronicles some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC. Needless to say, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to create a massive buzz in the town.

To note, Kalki 2898 AD marked Deepika's first collaboration with Prabhas and third collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan after Piku and Aarakshan. Interestingly, as Kalki 2898 AD was released amid massive buzz, it opened to rave reviews with fans in absolute awe of Amitabh Bachchan's performance as Ashwathhama along with lauding Prabhas and Deepika's stint as well. Kalki 2898 AD magnificent charm was evidently visible at the box office as well wherein it witnessed a thunderous opening across India as it released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and English.

To note, while Kalki 2898 AD made an overall collection of Rs 95.3 crores on the opening day with all languages combined, it made an opening day collection of over Rs 190 crores worldwide. Interestingly, it saw a phenomenal start at the box office in the Hindi market. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD made a collection of Rs 22.5 crores on day 1 (first Thursday) in Hindi market. The Nag Ashwin directorial maintained a steady growth on the second day (first Friday) and minted Rs 22.5 crores as per early estimates which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 45 crores. Given the trend, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to seen an impressive hike in number today (day 3/ first Saturday) wherein it is likely to mint Rs 20-25 crores and will cross Rs 60 crores mark at the box office.

Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
