Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 5 (Hindi): Prabhas’ Film Beats Pushpa; Creates THIS Record

Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) Beats Pushpa: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD is one of the biggest releases of the year. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in the lead. Set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, Kalki 2898 AD was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages. As the movie opened to rave reviews, it has managed to set the box office on fire since the first day.
While Kalki 2898 AD has managed to cross Rs 300 crores mark in the opening weekend (all languages combined), it has been doing wonders in the Hindi market. This Nag Ashwin directorial has managed to cross Rs 100 crores mark in Hindi in the opening weekend. As Kalki 2898 AD is maintaining a strong hold at the box office, it has managed to create a record as it has entered the top 10 list of highest grossing South Indian films in Hindi.
Kalki 2898 AD Beats Allu Arjun's Pushpa The Rise
According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD has made a collection of Rs 111.50 crores in Hindi in four days of release and has managed to surpass Allu Arjun's Pushpa - The Rise which raked in Rs 106.35 crores and is currently at the 9th position in the top 10 list of highest grossing South Indian films in Hindi. In fact, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to cross the collection of Baahubali The Beginning (Rs 118.50 crores) by the end of day 5 (first Monday). To note, Kalki 2898 AD has also created a record for Prabhas as he is the only actor who has 6 films in top 10 list of highest grossing South Indian films in Hindi including Baahubali, Baahubali 2, Salaar Part 1, Adipurush, Saaho and Kalki 2898 AD.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
