Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 5 (Hindi) Prediction: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD is one of the biggest releases of the year. The dystopian science fiction, which is helmed by Nag Ashwin, is set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD and it is touted to be the most expensive film of the Indian Cinema made with a humongous budget of Rs 600 crore. To note, apart from Prabhas and Deepika, Kalki 2898 AD also features Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in the lead.

Set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, Kalki 2898 AD chronicles some events of the Mahabharata in the year 3102 BC. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD opened to rave reviews from the audience and everyone has been lauding Amitabh Bachchan's performance as Ashwatthama in the film. To note, Kalki 2898 AD marks Amitabh's first collaboration with Prabhas and third with Deepika after Piku and Aarakshan. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to set the box office on fire since the first day in the Hindi market.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD made an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores in Hindi followed by an earning of Rs 23 crore on day 2. Interestingly, the Nag Ashwin directorial saw an impressive hike in numbers during the opening weekend wherein it minted Rs 26 crores on day 3 (first Saturday) and Rs 39 crores on day 4 (first Sunday) which took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 110.5 crores.

Given the ongoing trends, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to have a good hold at the box office in the first week but it is likely to witness its first dip. To note, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to mint Rs 15-20 crores in Hindi market today (day 5/ first Monday) and will cross Rs 125 crores mark at the box office. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has already crossed Rs 500 crores mark worldwide and even went on to enter the Rs 300 crores club in India with all languages combined. It will be interesting to see how Kalki 2898 AD will fare at the box office in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
