Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 7 (Hindi): Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's recent release Kalki 2898 AD has been ruling the box office ever since it hit the theatres. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages and it has been receiving rave reviews from across the country. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in the lead, Kalki made a phenomenal opening at the box office with a collection of Rs 22.5 crores

To note, Kalki 2898 AD has been set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD and and revolves around Kalki who is the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity, Vishnu. And while the movie managed to create a massive buzz in the town, Kalki saw a major jump in the collections during the opening weekend in the Hindi market as it entered the coveted Rs 100 crores club. Though Kalki 2898 AD did see a significant drop in numbers on the first Monday, the movie has been maintaining a good hold at the box office.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 3898 AD made a collection of Rs 16.5 crores on day 5 (first Monday), followed by an earning of Rs 13 crores on day 6 (first Tuesday) and Rs 11 crores on day 7 (first Wednesday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 152 crores. Despite witnessing a continuous dip in numbers, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to beat Adipurush on day 7 with a huge number as Nag Ashwin's film minted over thrice the earning of Prabhas-Kriti Sanon's film. For the uninitiated, Adipurush had raked in Rs 2.9 crores on day 7 of its release.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
