Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 8 (Hindi) Prediction: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone have all the reasons to be on cloud nine. After all, their first collaboration Kalki 2898 AD has been setting the box office on fire since the first day across the world. While Kalki 2898 AD, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in the lead, had crossed Rs 700 crores mark worldwide, it has been going strong in India as well. To note, Kalki 2898 AD was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD saw a phenomenal start at the box office in Hindi market with an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores. The movie, which is a dystopian science fiction film by Nag Ashwin, went on to enter the prestigious Rs 100 crores club in the opening weekend and has been trying to have a good hold at the box office ever since. However, the first Monday came with a massive drop in numbers.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD numbers dropped by over 58% on day 5 (first Monday) as it raked in Rs 16.5 crores. The movie saw another drop in numbers on day 6 (first Tuesday) wherein it minted Rs 13 crores. Kalki 2898 AD has witnessing continuous drop in the collection as the movie earned Rs 11 crores yesterday (day 7/ first Wednesday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 152 crores in the first week. Given the trends, Kalki 2898 AD crores will be seeing another drop in numbers today (day 8/ second Thursday) and is likely to mint Rs 8-10 crores taking the collections of the movie over Rs 160 crores. It will be interesting to see if Kalki 2898 AD will manage to cross Rs 200 crores mark ahead of the second weekend.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
