Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 9 (Hindi) Prediction: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD is one of the biggest releases of the year and there are no second thoughts about it. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the dystopian science fiction film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in the lead along with Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Deverakonda in cameos. Set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, Kalki 2898 AD was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages and it opened to rave reviews in all languages.
Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD saw a phenomenal opening at the box office in the Hindi market with an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores and is reportedly the highest opener of 2024. The movie managed to cross Rs 100 crores mark at the box office during the opening weekend and did manage to have a good hold despite witnessing a continuous drop in numbers after day 5 (first Monday).

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD made a collection of Rs 16.5 crores on day 5 (first Monday) followed by an earning of Rs 13 crores on day 6 (first Tuesday) and Rs 11.3 crores on day 7 (first Wednesday). The movie managed to have a good hold at the box office in the second week too as it raked in Rs 10.5 crores on day 8 (second Thursday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 162.8 crores.
Given the trend, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to have a strong hold and is likely to mint Rs 9-10 crores and cross Rs 170 crores mark at the box office today (day 9/ second Friday). In fact, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to cross Rs 200 crores during the second weekend. To note, with Lakshya's much talked about film Kill hitting the theatres today, it will be interesting to see if Kalki 2898 AD will manage to have a good hold at the box office in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
