Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 16 (Hindi) Prediction: Nag Ashwin's much talked about film Kalki 2898 AD is in the third week now and the dystopian science fiction film has been creating immense buzz in the town. Starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in key roles, Kalki 2898 AD has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and revolves around Kalki who is the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity, Vishnu.

To note, Kalki 2898 AD has been touted to be one of the most expensive films of Indian cinema made with a staggering budget of Rs 600 crores. And while this Nag Ashwin directorial has managed to create a massive buzz in the town, it opened to rave reviews and made an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores in the Hindi market. Kalki 2898 AD entered the Rs 100 crores club in the first weekend to crossing Rs 200 crores mark in the second weekend, this Prabhas and Deepika starrer has been creating waves at the box office.

However, the second week came with a continuous drop at the box office. And as Kalki 2898 AD has entered the third week, it is facing a strong competition from Akshay Kumar's Sarfira and Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 which is likely to affect its box office collection. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD made a collection of Rs 4.6 crores on day 14 (second Wednesday) followed by an earning of Rs 4 crores yesterday (day 15/ third Thursday) which took the overall collections of the film to Rs 232.9 crores. And with two new releases hitting the box office, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to see another drop in numbers and is likely to mint Rs 2-3.5 crores today (day 16/ third Friday) as it inches close to Rs 235 crores mark.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
