Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 18 (Hindi) Prediction: Prabhas is one of the biggest stars in India and he has certainly proven is worth time and again on the big screen. After the phenomenal success of the Baahubali franchise, Adipurush and even Salaar, the superstar is now back in the headlines and this time because of his recent release Kalki 2898 AD. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the science dystopian science fiction film, the movie also features Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in key roles.

Set in the post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, Kalki 2898 AD is touted to be the most expensive film of Indian cinema made with a staggering budget of Rs 600 crores. The movie opened to rave reviews from the audience and has managed to set the box office on fire since the first day. In fact, Kalki 2898 AD witnessed a good start at the box office in the Hindi market and made an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores.

Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD managed to enter the coveted Rs 100 crores club during the opening weekend and even crossed Rs 200 crores mark during the second weekend. And now that the Nag Ashwin directorial is in the third week, it continues to have a good hold at the box office despite facing competition from new releases like Kill, Sarfira and Indian 2. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD, which minted Rs 3.40 crores on day 16 (third Friday), saw a hike of around 135% in numbers on day 17 (third Saturday) wherein it minted Rs 8 crores and took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 244.7 crores in the Hindi market.

Going by the trend, Kalki 2898 AD is likely to see another hike in numbers today (day 18/ third Sunday). The movie is likely to mint Rs 8-10 crores and will be crossing Rs 250 crores mark today. Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to cross the lifetime collection of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter which happens to be around Rs 212.73 crores. It will be interesting to see how Kalki 2898 AD will fare at the box office in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
