Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 19 (Hindi) Prediction: Deepika Padukone, who started the year on a great note with the success of Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter, is now making headlines for her second release of the year. We are talking about Kalki 2898 AD which is helmed by Nag Ashwin and also features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. The movie happens to be a dystopian science fiction film which is touted to be the most expensive film of Indian cinema.

As Kalki 2898 AD was released amid a massive buzz, it opened to rave reviews across the world. To note, the movie was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Kalki 2898 AD managed to set the box office on fire on the first day itself and made a colled of Rs 22.5 crores in the Hindi market. The movie saw a phenomenal jump in the numbers during the opening weekend and crossed Rs 100 crores mark at the box office.

Kalki 2898 AD also saw a good hold at the box office in the second week and crossed entered the Rs 200 crores club during the second weekend. While the movie did slow down during the third week, the third weekend came as a sigh of relief. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD raked in Rs 8.3 crores on day 17 (third Saturday) followed by a collection of Rs 9.5 crores on day 18 (third Monday) which took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 254.5 crores. Given the trend, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to see a massive drop in numbers today (day 19/ third Monday) and is likely to mint Rs 2-4 crores inching close to Rs 260 crores mark. It will be interesting to see if Kalki 2898 AD will manage to cross Rs 300 crores mark ahead of the fourth weekend.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly chronicle some events of the Mahabharata in the year of 3102 BC, Nag Ashwin in his interaction with Deadline stated that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He further asserted, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
