Khadaan Vs Shontaan (Bengali) Box Office Collection Day 3: Ahead of the Christmas holiday, Bengali film industry treated fans with a string of new movie releases. Amid the box office clashes, the two movies which have particularly been grabbing everyone's attention are - 'Khadaan' and 'Shontaan'. Wondering why? Well, because Bengali superstars Dev and Subhashree, who had a history with each other back in the day, are locking horns at the box office with their respective releases, Khadaan & Shontaan. Both the films hit cinemas on 20th December 2024, amid high buzz. Let's take a closer at which Bengali actor won the first weekend number game.
Khadaan (Bengali) Box Office Collection First Sunday
After years, actor-turned-politician Dev (Deepak Adhikari) has returned to the OG massy entertainer genre with his recently-released film 'Khadaan'. Directed by Soojit Dutta and produced by Nispal Singh's Surinder Films and Dev-led Dev Entertainment Ventures, Khadaan features Dev, Jisshu Sengupta, Anirban Chakrabarti, Idhika Paul and Barkha Bisht Sengupta among others. From trailer to songs, the Bengali-language action-drama generated quite a buzz among the audience.
Amid high buzz, the Dev starrer opened to mostly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. As per Sacnilk, the movie raked in around Rs 68 lakhs on the day of its release, followed by significant jump in numbers and houseful shows over the weekend. As per the update, Khadaan scored Rs 76 lakhs on Saturday and Rs 1.12 cr on Sunday, taking the total nett collection to Rs 2.56 cr in 3 days.
Shontaan (Bengali) Box Office Collection First Sunday
After the super-success of 'Parineeta' (2019), Raj Chakrabarty, his wife-actress Subhashree Ganguly and Ritwick Chakraborty teamed up once again for the emotional drama 'Shontaan'. Directed by Raj, the film also features veteran stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anashua Majumdar alongside Kharaj Mukherjee and Sohini Sengupta among others in important roles.
Amid decent buzz, Shontaan opened to a decent collection of Rs 11 lakhs. The film witnessed growth due the positive word of mouth and raked in around Rs 18 lakhs on Saturday and Rs 31 lakhs on Sunday, as per Sacnilk. Now, the overall nett collection is estimated to be at Rs 60 lakhs in opening weekend.
Khadaan Vs Shontaan First Weekend Collection: Dev Vs Subhashree? Who Won The Number Game?
Well, Dev-starrer Khadaan seems to be the first choice for all cinegoers over Subhashree's Shontaan and other Bengali releases. As of the opening weekend numbers, Dev's action-drama has beaten Subhashree's emotional-drama over a shar margin of around Rs 1.96 cr.
