Kill Box Office Collection Day 2: Lakshya’s Action Film Struggles To Shine Amid Kalki 2898 AD Fever

Kill Box Office Collection Day 2

Kill Box Office Collection Day 2: This Friday as another much talked about film hit the theatres, it marked the launch of another newcomer. We are talking about Lakshya who made his big Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's recent production Kill. Also starring Raghav Juyal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Harsh Chhaya and Tanya Maniktala in key roles, Kill is an action thriller which is helmed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. Interestingly, Lakshya has managed to impress the audience as it opened to a decent response.

For the uninitiated, Kill narrates the story of an army commando who ends up into a nasty tiff with a gang of ruthless knife-wielding thieves who take over a train and terrorize the passengers. While Kill has been touted to be a gruesome film, the makers have even issued a warning stated, "This film contains violent content which may be intense and disturbing for some viewers". Despite the substantial buzz in the town, Kill saw a slow start at the box office and seems to be struggling during the opening weekend.

Kill Box Office Collection Day 2

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Kill made an opening day collection of Rs 1.25 crores. It saw a slight growth in number on the second day (first Saturday) wherein it raked in Rs 1.90 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 3.15 crores. To note, Kill is witnessing a strong box office competition from Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 and the dystopian science fiction film is definitely giving a hard time to Lakshya's debut film. It will be interesting to see how Kill will fare at the box office in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Lakshya recently got candid about his debut film being premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and told Cosmopolitan, "Honestly, after we shot the film last year, I saw it for the first time at the Toronto Film Festival screening. I was sitting bang in the middle of an audience of 1,700 people, and their unfiltered, most honest reactions were a massive validation for me as an actor, an artist, and for everybody who was a part of that film. I don't have words to describe the experience as I had never been at the receiving end of anything like this ever before".
