Maidaan Vs Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Day 2 Box Office Collection: Akshay Kumar's BMCM Beats Ajay Devgn's Film

Maidaan Vs Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Box Office Collection Day 2: Akshay Kumar and Ajaj Devgn locked horns at the box office as their two much-awaited films released on Eid 2024. In a major clash, Maidaan and BMCM hit the silver screens on the same date. While the movie buffs got two different options to choose for, the industry cheered for both superstars.
Despite the buzz surrounding Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan, the two movies failed to perform as expected. While Ajay Devgn's movie collected around Rs 5 crore, BMCM minted more than Rs 16 crore on the opening day. Eid releases usually garner over Rs 30 crore at the box office and the first day numbers for the major films showcased the mood of the audience.
MAIDAAN BOX OFFICE COLLECTION DAY 1
The numbers for Ajay Devgn's Maidaan have been disappointing. Despite the positive reviews and Eid holiday, the sports drama failed to strike a chord with the audience. Even when include the paid reviews, the film couldn't cross the Rs 10-crore mark on the first day of release.
Bollywood critic and trade analsyt Taran Adarsh shared the first day box office collection of Maidaan on his official X handle. "Inspite of the big holiday [#Eid], #Maidaan opens to shockingly low numbers... Biz at urban centres in particular should've multiplied post-noon onwards, but, despite merits and appreciation, the Day 1 biz is dismal, way below the mark... Wed previews + Thu ₹ 7.25 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice," Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.
"#Maidaan enjoys glorious word of mouth, but that needs to convert into footfalls, especially over the weekend... In fact, a miraculous turnaround on Sat - Sun is a must... Let's see how its biz pans out in the next couple of days," he added.
BMCM DAY 1 BOX OFFICE COLLECTION: BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN BO DROPS ON DAY 2
Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starter collected over Rs 16 crore but couldn't perform like Salman Khan's usual Eid releases like Bharat, Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Expressing his thoughts about the performance, Adarsh wrote, Despite timing its release on the big holiday [#Eid], #BadeMiyanChoteMiyan doesn't live up to the mammoth expectations on Day 1... The big total - expected on a national holiday - is clearly missing... Thu ₹ 16.07 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice #BMCM. With a dream cast + lavish making + holiday factor + aggressive promotions + terrific track record of its director, #BMCM should've opened anywhere between ₹ 25 cr and ₹ 30 cr [even higher] on Day 1... The numbers, frankly, are way below expectations, since the costs are extremely high (sic)."
He mentioned that Bade Miyan Chote Miyaan would have opened better as it featured a star-studded cast and released on a major holiday.
