Both Maidaan and BMCM, released in cinemas on April 11, 2024 - had an underwhelming opening. Maidaan, directed by Amit Sharma, is based on the life of football legend Syed Abdul Rahim with Devgn in the titular role. The biographical sports-drama is made on a whopping budget of Rs 350 crores!

On the other hand, Ali Abbas Zafar-directed Bade Miyan Chote Miyan revolves around the story of two Indian army officers who embark on a deadly mission to fight against India's most dangerous enemy, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. BMCM's budget is said to be around Rs 250 crores.

Both Maidaan and BMCM had a dull start at the box office. Devgn's film had opened to a box office collection of Rs 7.1 crores (including Rs 2.6 cr earned from the paid reviews conducted on the previous day of its official release date), while Akki-Tiger's masala-actioner raked in Rs 15.65 crores (Hindi - 15.5 cr; Tamil - 0.08 cr; Telugu - 0.05 cr; Kannada - 0.01 cr; Malayalam - 0.01 cr).

Maidaan and BMCM collected Rs 7.3 cr and Rs 3.9 cr respectively in its 3rd week.

According to the latest Sacnilk report, Maidaan has shown a noticable upward trend on 4th Saturday. After collecting Rs 9 lakhs on 4th Friday, the sports-drama witnessed a 90% growth and minted around Rs 97 lakhs on day 24. The total collection of Maidaan now stands at Rs 47.05 crores.

Meanwhile, BMCM could only anaged to rake in around Rs 40 lakhs on its 4th Saturday in cinemas, taking the total 24-day collection to Rs 63.05 crores.
