Maidaan Vs BMCM Box Office Collection Day 22: Bollywood buffs witnessed one of the highly-anticipated box office clashes of this year - Maidaan Vs Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Superstars Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar locked horns with their respective Eid releases, Maidaan and BMCM. While both the films failed to meet expectations, the collection report of Devgn's sports-drama is sightly better than Akki-Tiger's masala action-entertainer. Let's take a look -

Both Ajay Devgn's much-awaited biographical sports-drama and Akshay's highly-anticipated masala-action hit theatres on Eid 2024, i.e., April 11. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Maidaan is based on the illustrious life of the football legend Syed Abdul Rahim. The film is made on a whopping budget of Rs 350 crores.

On the other hand, Akki-Tiger's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, revolves around the story of two Indian army officers who embark on a deadly mission to fight against India's most dangerous enemy, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. BMCM's budget is said to be around Rs 250 crores.

Maidaan Vs BMCM Box Office Collection Day 22 Report

Both Maidaan and BMCM had an underwhelming opening at the box office. The films have been struggling to pull audience to theatres since the day 1. Maidaan opened to a b.o. collection of Rs 7.1 crores (including Rs 2.6 cr earned from the paid reviews conducted on the previous day if its official release date), while Akki-Tiger's film raked in Rs 15.65 crores (Hindi - 15.5 cr; Tamil - 0.08 cr; Telugu - 0.05 cr; Kannada - 0.01 cr; Malayalam - 0.01 cr).

According to Sacnilk, on 3rd Thursday, BMCM minted around Rs 40 lakhs (early estimates) and Maidaan estimated to rake in Rs 50 lakhs. As per the report, Maidaan collected Rs 7.3 cr, while BMCM managed to mint Rs 3.95 cr.

Maidaan's total 22-day estimated collection now stands at Rs 45.6 crores, while BMCM's total collection is around Rs 62.45 crores in 22 days.
