Amid much anticipation, Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan and Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan released in cinemas but both the films failed to rake in moolah. Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar locked horns with their respective Eid releases, Maidaan Vs Bade Miyan Chote Miyan on April 11, 2024!

Directed by Amit Sharma, Maidaan is a biographical sports-drama based on the life of the football legend, Syed Abdul Rahim with Devgn essaying the titular role. The film is made on a whopping budget of Rs 350 crores.

On the other hand, Ali Abbas Zafar-directed BMCM is an action-packed masala entertainer that revolves around the story of two brave Indian army officers (Akki and Tiger) who embark on a deadly mission to fight against India's most dangerous enemy, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan's budget is said to be around Rs 250 crores.

Maidaan Vs BMCM Box Office Collection Day 15 Report

Devgn's Maidaan had opened to a box office collection of Rs 7.1 crores (including Rs 2.6 cr earned from the paid reviews conducted on the previous day of its official release date), while Akki-Tiger's film raked in Rs 15.65 crores (Hindi - 15.5 cr; Tamil - 0.08 cr; Telugu - 0.05 cr; Kannada - 0.01 cr; Malayalam - 0.01 cr).

According to the latest Sacnilk report, both Ajay and Akki's films witnessed a noticeable growth on Sunday, espcially Maidaan. Devgn's sports-drama raked in Rs 1.35 crores on Sunday, while BMCM collected an estimated amount of Rs 70 lakhs.

The total collection of Maidaan now stands at Rs 48.4 crores in 25 days. Meanwhile, Akshay's film has raked in Rs 63.75 crores so far.
