Both films hit cinemas on 11th April 2024 and had an underwhelming box office opening. On its 4th Tuesday, Devgn's sports-drama managed to mint double than Akshay's masala-actioner.

Ever since the release, both Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan have been struggling to pull audiences to theatres. Directed by Amit Sharma, Devgn starrer, made on a budget of Rs 350 crores, is a biographical sports-drama that is based on the life of football legend Syed Abdul Rahim.

Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan revlves around the story of two brave Indian army officers who embark on a deadly mission to fight against India's most dangerous villain. The budget of this Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is said to be around Rs 250 crores.

Maidaan Vs BMCM Box Office Collection Day 27 Report

Devgn's Maidaan had opened to a box office collection of Rs 7.1 crores (including Rs 2.6 cr earned from the paid reviews conducted on the previous day of its official release date), while Akki-Tiger's film raked in Rs 15.65 crores (Hindi - 15.5 cr; Tamil - 0.08 cr; Telugu - 0.05 cr; Kannada - 0.01 cr; Malayalam - 0.01 cr).

According to Sacnilk, Devgn's sports-drama collected Rs 50 lakhs on 4th Wednesday, while the Akshay starrer raked in Rs 25 lakhs pon day 27.

Now the total collection of Maidaan stands at Rs 49.35 crores. On the other hand, BMCM's total 27-day collection is Rs 64.25 crores (Hindi - 63.6 cr; Tamil - 0.35 cr; Telugu - 0.28 cr; Kannada - 0.01 cr; Malayalam - 0.01 cr)
