Merry
Christmas
has
been
the
talk
of
the
town
ever
since
it
was
announced.
After
all,
it
not
just
marked
Katrina
and
Vijay's
first
collaboration
but
also
marked
director
Sriram
Raghavan's
debut
in
Tamil
Cinema.
The
movie
was
a
thriller
drama
and
opened
to
rave
reviews
from
the
audience
and
critics
with
an
opening
day
collection
of
Rs
2.45
crores.
The
movie
saw
a
decent
hike
during
the
first
weekend,
however,
after
failing
with
crucial
Monday
test,
Merry
Christmas
has
been
witness
a
continuous
drop
in
collections.
In
fact,
it
even
struggled
to
mint
Rs
1
crores
at
the
box
office
and
was
struggling
at
Rs
50
lakhs
collection
in
a
single
day
especially
with
the
release
of
Sidharth
Malhotra's
Indian
Police
Force
releasing
on
Amazon
Prime
and
Pankaj
Tripathi's
Main
Atal
Hoon
hitting
the
theatres
on
January
19.
But
looks
like
the
second
week
has
come
as
a
relief
for
Merry
Christmas.
According
to
a
report
published
in
Sacnilk,
Merry
Christmas
saw
a
significant
jump
of
98%
yesterday
(day
9/
second
Saturday)
and
minted
Rs
1.03
crores
which
took
the
overall
collection
of
the
movie
to
Rs
16.30
crores.
Given
the
trend,
Merry
Christmas
is
likely
to
mint
Rs
1
crores
today
and
cross
Rs
17
crores.
In
fact,
the
movie
has
already
minted
Rs
10
lakhs
from
the
morning
shows
so
far
Meanwhile,
talking
about
working
with
Sriram
Raghavan
in
Merry
Christmas,
Katrina
told
News18
Showsha,
"He
is
going
to
make
you
tell
him
what
you
feel
in
the
scene
and
how
will
the
character
react
to
the
situations
that
she
is
in.
He
makes
you
search
for
honesty.
So,
working
on
Merry
Christmas
was
extremely
rewarding
and
challenging
at
the
same
time.
It
was
such
an
intense
process,
but
a
wonderful
one".
