Katrina
Kaif
has
been
one
of
the
most
popular
and
loved
actress
in
Bollywood
who
has
proved
her
mettle
time
and
again
on
the
big
screen.
The
diva
has
given
us
several
hit
films
and
is
currently
making
headlines
for
her
recent
release
Merry
Christmas.
Helmed
by
Sriram
Raghavan,
the
movie
also
features
Vijay
Sethupathi
in
the
lead
and
marks
his
first
collaboration
with
Katrina.
Interestingly,
Merry
Christmas,
which
is
a
thriller
drama,
has
managed
to
grab
a
lot
of
eyeballs
and
intrigue
the
audience
with
its
trailer
and
teasers.
And
while
it
has
opened
to
mixed
response,
Merry
Christmas
has
been
witnessed
a
slow
but
decent
box
office
journey.
Starting
with
a
collection
of
Rs
2.45
crores
on
day
1,
the
movie
did
witness
a
spike
in
collections
during
the
opening
weekend.
However,
it
has
been
seeing
a
continuous
drop
in
numbers
post
weekend.
After
a
56%
drop
on
first
Monday,
Merry
Christmas
saw
another
dip
of
21%
and
minted
Rs
1.3
crores
yesterday
(day
5/
first
Tuesday)
taking
the
overall
collection
to
Rs
12.68
crores
as
per
a
report
published
in
Sacnilk.
Given
the
trend,
Merry
Christmas
is
likely
to
struggle
crossing
Rs
1
crore
today
and
will
make
around
Rs
90
lakhs
to
Rs
1
crore
at
the
box
office
on
day
6
(first
Wednesday)
and
will
cross
Rs
13
crores
mark.
Well,
with
a
clear
ground
for
around
10
days
at
the
box
office
with
no
releases,
it
will
be
interesting
to
see
if
Merry
Christmas
can
cross
Rs
25
crores
mark
as
a
lifetime
collection
before
the
release
of
Fighter
on
January
25.
Meanwhile,
talking
about
working
with
Katrina
Kaif,
Vijay
Sethupathi
told
Indian
Express,
"I
never
expected
I'll
work
with
Katrina
Kaif.
I'm
a
very
big
fan
of
Katrina.
I
was
very
happy
when
I
saw
her
on
the
first
day
and
I
couldn't
express
(my
happiness).
She
is
a
very
thoughtful
actor.
She
has
so
many
questions.
She
thinks
a
lot.
She
is
very
dedicated.
She
comes
up
with
an
idea
and
she
is
ready
to
adapt.
Even
if
she
can't
accept
your
thoughts,
she
will
listen
to
you.
She
will
put
in
a
lot
of
effort
to
make
a
scene
better.
That's
why
she
is
in
the
industry
not
only
because
she
is
beautiful
but
also
because
she
is
sensible.
Just
on
the
basis
of
beauty
you
can't
survive
for
so
long.
There
should
be
sense
and
understanding.
I
felt
it
when
I
was
working
with
her".
