Merry Christmas Box Office Collection Day 8: Katrina’s Film Fails To Make 1Cr As IPF, Main Atal Hoon Releases

Katrina Kaif has been all over the headlines these days, courtesy of her recent release Merry Christmas. Also starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead, this Sriram Raghavan directorial was the first release of 2024 and opened to mixed reviews from the audience and critics. Interestingly, Merry Christmas marked Katrina's first collaboration with Vijay and the fans have been in awe of this new jodi.

Interestingly, Merry Christmas started the box office journey with Rs 2.45 crores and a decent opening weekend collection. However, it has been seeing continuous drop post weekend. After minting Rs 1.15 crores on day 6 (first Wednesday), Merry Christmas witnessed a further drop in collections on day 7 (first Thursday) as it earned Rs 99 lakhs taking the overall collections to Rs 14.82 crores as per a report published in Sacnilk. And now it is likely to see another drop in numbers ahead of the second weekend.

As per the trend, Merry Christmas is will fail to make Rs 1 crore at the box office today (day 8/ second Friday). In fact, it has raked in Rs 1 lakh from the morning show so far and the number is likely to reach Rs 80 lakhs by the end of the day. The fall is evident with the release of two movies today. We are talking about Sidharth Malhotra's Indian Police Force releasing on Amazon Prime tomorrow and Pankaj Tripathi's Main Atal Hoon hitting the theatres.

Meanwhile, talking about working with Sriram Raghavan in Merry Christmas, Katrina told News18 Showsha, "He is going to make you tell him what you feel in the scene and how will the character react to the situations that she is in. He makes you search for honesty. So, working on Merry Christmas was extremely rewarding and challenging at the same time. It was such an intense process, but a wonderful one".
