Mr and Mrs Mahi Beats Fighter: After creating immense buzz in the town, the much anticipated Mr and Mrs Mahi has finally hit the screens and the audience can't keep calm. Helmed by Sharan Sharma, the movie happens to be a sports romance drama and features Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead. While Mr and Mrs Mahi has managed to create a massive buzz in the town, it has opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics alike.

From the teaser to trailer, everything about Mr and Mrs Mahi has managed to leave the audience wanting for more. To note, this Sharan Sharma directorial marks Rajkummar and Janhvi's second collaboration after the 2021 release Roohi and their chemistry has been winning hearts. Given the substantial buzz in the town, Mr and Mrs Mahi has managed to create a massive record at the box office. According to media reports, Mr and Mrs Mahi has recorded the highest ticket sales of 2024.

According to a report published by Pinkvilla, Mr and Mrs Mahi has sold around 1.5 lakh tickets in top national chains like PVRInox and Cinepolis until yesterday. The report suggested that it has turned out to be the highest selling film in terms of tickets sold for the release day and managed to beat films like Shaitaan, Fighter, Article 370 which were the top grossing films of the year. Reportedly, Mr and Mrs Mahi has managed to sell 2.15 lakh tickets for day 1 while Fighter sold 1.45 lakh tickets and Article 370 and Shaitaan settled at 1.25 lakh tickets and 81.5 thousand tickets respectively

While the Cinema Lovers Day has turned out to be in favour of Mr and Mrs Mahi, there is a possibility of the audience turnout to be around 10 lakhs today. Interestingly, Mr and Mrs Mahi is likely to rake in Rs 6-8 crores at the box office on the opening day. While the movie is expected to see a phenomenal growth at the box office during the opening weekend, it will be interesting to see if it can cross Rs 100 crores mark in the first week.

Meanwhile, talking about his character and the movie, Rajkummar stated, "My character's name is Mahendra, he is a failed cricketer, he had a lot of passion in his life for cricket, he wanted to be a cricket player one day and play for the country, but it didn't happen because of peer pressure, because of family pressure, so today he is walking on the path shown by his father and then they get married, Mahima and Mahendra. And then how he lived his dream through her. Because she used to play cricket, so he decides that he will train her and she is a doctor".
