Mr and Mrs Mahi Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajkummar Rao Gets His Highest Opener With This Janhvi Starrer

Mr and Mrs Mahi Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's recent release Mr and Mrs Mahi has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Helmed by Sharan Sharma, the movie has been winning hearts post release. To note, Mr and Mrs Mahi happens to be a romantic sports drama which revolves around a much in love couple who are passionate about the game of cricket. As the movie has managed to create a massive buzz in the town, it has opened to rave reviews from the audience.

Interestingly, Mr and Mrs Mahi marks Janhvi's second collaboration with Rajkummar Rao after Roohi and also with director Sharan Sharma after Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. As Janhvi and Rajkummar's chemistry has won hearts in Mr and Mrs Mahi, the movie has witnessed a great start at the box office. After reportedly recording the highest ticket sales of 2024, Mr and Mrs Mahi has become Rajkummar's highest opener so far.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Mr and Mrs Mahi minted Rs 7 crores on day 1 (First Friday) as per early estimates. While the movie saw a good start, it has emerged as the highest opener for Rajkummar after beating Stree which had minted Rs 6.82 crores on the day of release. Meanwhile, it has become the second highest opener for Janhvi after her debut movie Dhadak which collected Rs 8.71 crores on the first day at the box office. It will be interesting to see how Mr and Mrs Mahi will fare at the ticket windows in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Janhvi is hoping the movie will do well at the box office. In fact, the quest to get a box office hit is what pushes her to try different roles. Talking about the same, she told Free Press Journal, "I always want the numerical conversion of the films I do or the roles I decide to play. I constantly seek validation for my work. My last theatrical hit was my debut film Dhadak, Roohi came out in the pandemic but since we opened up with 50% capacity, it was a success for the times we were living in. But I don't count it as a success. Mili didn't do well the box office. Once I will get that numerical validation, then I start to believe that I am doing well."
