Mr and Mrs Mahi Box Office Collection Day 2: Janhvi-Rajkummar’s Movie Beats Srikanth Despite Drop In Numbers

Mr and Mrs Mahi Box Office Collection Day 2: Janhvi Kapoor is all over the news these days and rightfully so. After all, she had her fourth theatrical release recently which has opened to rave reviews from the audience. We are talking about Mr and Mrs Mahi which also features Rajkummar Rao in the lead. Helmed by Sharan Sharma, the movie marks Janhvi's second collaboration with Rajkummar after their 2021 release horror comedy which also featured Varun Sharma in the lead.

To note, Mr and Mrs Mahi revolves around a couple who is extremely passionate about the game of cricket and how it brings them together along with capturing the struggles they face because of their cricket madness. Interestingly, this Sharan Sharma directorial had opened to rave reviews from the audience and fans even called it Rajkummar and Janhvi's career best film.

However, despite a good start, Mr and Mrs Mahi saw a significant drop in collection of around 33%. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Mr and Mrs Mahi raked in Rs 6.75 crores on day 1 (first Friday) followed by a collection of Rs 4.5 crores yesterday (day 2/ first Saturday). As of now, the overall collection of the movie stands at Rs 11.34 crores. To note, despite the drop, Mr and Mrs Mahi has failed to beat Srikanth which had minted Rs 4.2 crores on the second day of release. While Mr and Mrs Mahi has turned out to be Rajkummar and Janhvi's second highest opener after Stree and Dhadak respectively, it will be interesting to see how it will fare at the box office in the coming days.

Meanwhile, talking about his character and the movie, Rajkummar stated, "My character's name is Mahendra, he is a failed cricketer, he had a lot of passion in his life for cricket, he wanted to be a cricket player one day and play for the country, but it didn't happen because of peer pressure, because of family pressure, so today he is walking on the path shown by his father and then they get married, Mahima and Mahendra. And then how he lived his dream through her. Because she used to play cricket, so he decides that he will train her and she is a doctor".
