Exclusive! Mr & Mrs Mahi And Savi Box Office: Will Both The Films Give Bollywood A Sigh Of Relief?

Mr & Mrs Mahi And Savi Box Office: 2024 hasn't been a great year for Bollywood. Many biggies that were expected to do wonders at the box office have failed to make a mark, and there have been some small films at did resonably well at the ticket windows. However, in the past few weeks, most of the releases have turned out to be a disaster. Now, this week Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Mr & Mrs Mahi, and Divya Khossla starrer Savi are slated to release.

Filmibeat spoke to producer and film business expert, Girish Johar, about both the movies. When asked what's the buzz about the Mr & Mrs Mahi and Savi, he said, "Mr & Mrs Mahi has some kind of attraction. Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, they have their fan following, and the music and the promotions are of decent level. Awareness level is also quite fair for the film. It is a film for multiplex audience and metropolitan cities; it's an urban kind of a film targeting the youth. There's a cinema lovers day planned on the release date, so I think that would give some attraction at the box office."

"Same for Savi. It would be getting a limited release. The trailer is intriguing, and it would be based completely on word of mouth, and thriller do work at the box office if the word of mouth is good for the film. The good part is that both the releases are of different genres, so the audiences have good options to watch, and the window is also open. I hope that the box office reignites with these films, and the cinema lovers day ticket pricing also helps Savi."

Further talking about the range both the movies might open, Johar said, "Savi's opening can be under Rs. 1 crore, and I would be happy if Mr & Mrs Mahi opens somewhere around Rs. 3 crore. It would be a comfortable start."
