Munjya Box Office Collection Day 1: Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe is back with 'Munjya'. Starring Sharvari and Abhay Verma in the lead, the movie opened to mostly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. 'Munjya' hit cinemas yesterday, 7th June 2024, and left the audience quite impressed with its VFX, cast and storyline. Directed Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya is based on the supernatural creature of the same name common in the Maharashtrian folklore.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan-led Maddock Films and Amar Kaushik, Munjya marks the fourth film in their horror-comedy universe after 'Stree', 'Roohi' and 'Bhediya'.

Sharvari Records Her Highest Opener With Munjya

Actress Sharvari Wagh, who made her acting debut opposite rumoured beau Sunnu Kaushal in Kabir Khan's Prime Video series 'The Forgotten Army', has all the reasons to celebrate.

Sharvari has been receiving rave reviews for her performance in her latest release, Munjya, which marks her highest opening since her debut. She made her theatrical debut in Bunty Aur Babli 2 alongside Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji and Siddhant Chaturvedi.

Coming back to Munjya, the film performed beyond expectation on opening day. The horror-comedy flick raked in Rs 4.21 crores on day 1 of its release.

Munjya Fails To Beat Stree On Opening Day

Munjy surprised everyone with a box office opening of Rs 4.21 crores. However, the film failed to beat Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Stree' on opening day.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree - the first film in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe - was released in cinemas on 31st August 2018 and had collected Rs 6.82 crores on its first day in theatres.

The film grossed over Rs 180 crores worldwide during its theatrical run and became one of the successful films of that year.
