Munjya Box Office Collection Day 17: Sharvari and Abhay Verma's new onscreen jodi has been creating a massive buzz in the town with their first collaboration Munjya. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya is a horror comedy which is based on the legend of Munjya which is inspired by Indian folklore. Also starring Mona Singh, Suhasini Joshi, Sathyaraj and Taranjot Singh in the lead, Munjya is the fourth installment of their supernatural universe after Stree, Roohi and Bhediya and has been creating massive buzz since the release.

From Abhay's impressive performance to the spooky storyline and even the scary CGI titular character, Munjya has managed to open to rave reviews. The horror comedy recorded an opening day collection of Rs 4 crores and even saw a stupendous growth in collections during the opening weekend. In fact, after a strong hold at the box office during the first week, Munjya saw a significant growth during the second weekend and went on to cross Rs 50 crores mark at the box office.

Interestingly, Munjya refused to slow down during the second week and went on to see another massive hike during the third weekend. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Munjya minted Rs 5.5 crores on day 16 (third Saturday) and recorded the highest collection on third Saturday in 2024 after beating Fighter and Shaitaan. This was followed by an earning of Rs 6.85 crores on day 17 (third Sunday). However, Munjya went on to see a significant dip of over 67% in numbers on third Monday.

To note, Munjya minted Rs 2.25 crores on day 18 (third Monday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 85.5 crores. Interestingly, Munjya has managed to beat the day 18 collection of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree which had earned Rs 1.87 crores. It will be interesting to see how Munjya will fare at the box office in the third week as Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD is hitting the screens on June 27.

Meanwhile, talking about Munjya's success, Sharvari stated, "My producer Dinesh Vijan and my director Aditya Sarpotdar had an insanely massive aim to deliver a theatrical experience like no other through Munjya. The were clear that the CGI character needed to wow people and Dinesh sir went to the best VFX company to fulfil their vision. I was blown away when I saw the CGI character in the film and the audience is feeling the same too which is why our film is such a huge blockbuster".
