Munjya Box Office Collection Day 19: Sharvari’s Film Holds Steady Ground Ahead Of Kalki 2898 AD Release

Munjya Box Office Collection Day 19: Abhay Verma and Sharvari starrer Munjya is all over the headlines and rightfully so. After all, this Aditya Sarpotdar directorial has been winning hearts since the first day itself. The movie happens to be a horror comedy based on the legend of Munjya which is inspired by Indian folklore. Interestingly, this happens to be the fourth installment of their supernatural universe after Stree, Roohi and Bhediya and also features Mona Singh, Suhasini Joshi, Sathyaraj and Taranjot Singh in the lead.

From Abhay's performance, to his chemistry with Sharvari and Mona Singh and the VFX work, everything about Munjya has managed to make headlines. And while Munjya has opened rave reviews, it has been doing wonders at the box office. After an opening day collection of Rs 4 crores, Munjya has managed to have an impressive week 1 followed by a significant hike in the second weekend. While Munjya crossed Rs 50 crores during the second weekend, it maintained a strong hold at the box office during the second week as well.

Interestingly, Munjya also recorded the highest third Sunday of 2024 as it minted Rs 6.85 crores. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Munjya raked in Rs 2.25 crores on day 18 (third Monday) followed by an earning of Rs 2.15 crores on day 19 (second Tuesday) as per early estimates which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 87.70 crores. It will be interesting to see how Munjya will fare at the box office in the third week as Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD is hitting the screens on June 27.

Meanwhile, talking about Munjya's success, Sharvari stated, "My producer Dinesh Vijan and my director Aditya Sarpotdar had an insanely massive aim to deliver a theatrical experience like no other through Munjya. The were clear that the CGI character needed to wow people and Dinesh sir went to the best VFX company to fulfil their vision. I was blown away when I saw the CGI character in the film and the audience is feeling the same too which is why our film is such a huge blockbuster".
