Munjya Box Office Collection Day 5: Sharvari’s Film Mints Over Double Mr and Mrs Mahi’s Number On 1st Tuesday

Munjya Box Office Collection Day 5: Remember Abhay Verma who left a mark with his performance in Manoj Bajpayee's The Family Man 2? The chocolate boy, which has carved a niche for himself on OTT, is now making headlines for his big screen debut Munjya. Directed by Adiyta Sarpotdar, Munjya is a horror comedy which is a based on the legend of Munjya which is inspired by Indian folklore. The movie also features Sharvari, Mona Singh, Suhas Joshi and Sathyaraj and has managed to open to rave reviews.

To note, Munjya is back with the fourth film of Maddock Supernatural Universe and has managed to create a massive buzz in the town with its storyline and impressive VFX. With all the buzz and rave reviews, Munjya saw a good opening at the box office with a collection of Rs 4 crores. The horror comedy saw a decent hike during the opening weekend and despite a drop in numbers on first Monday, Munjya has been holding its ground quite strongly. In fact, Munjya refuses to slow down at the box office.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Munjya minted Rs 3.75 crores on first Monday (day 4) and saw a slight hike in collections on day 5 (first Tuesday) wherein the movie minted Rs 4.3 crores which took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 27.55 crores. Interestingly, this Sharvari-Abhay starrer horror comedy has earned over double the collection Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi on its first Tuesday wherein it raked in Rs 1.85 crores. While Munjya is facing a competition from Mr and Mrs Mahi at the box office, it is definitely giving this Sharana Sharma directorial a tough time.

Meanwhile, talking about her character in Munjya, Sharvari told ETimes, "My character is a modern girl who wants to achieve her dreams and prioritises them before everything else, which I think we all do nowadays. Many girls will relate to my character. Her dating life is also quite confusing, many girls will relate to that too. A very beautifully written character".
